CEGA is currently accepting nominations for its 2024 Board of Directors. The available positions are as follows:
- President Elect: This individual will serve as President in the second year and Past President in the third year of their term.
- Finance Director Elect: The Finance Director Elect will continue to serve as the Finance Director in the second year of their term.
- Four Directors at Large: CEGA is seeking four directors to fill portfolios such as Conferences, Technical Divisions, Education, and Membership for a two-year term.
To be eligible for nomination, candidates must be voting members of CEGA (Full, Emeritus, Honorary, Recent Grads) and in good standing with the organization.
There are two methods to make a nomination:
- Complete and submit the Candidate Form to the CEGA Nominations Committee for consideration.
- Complete and submit the Nomination Form requiring 25 Voting Member signatures. If a candidate receives the necessary signatures, they will stand for election.
The deadline for submission of nominations is October 20th, 2023. All forms should be sent to Emma MacPherson, CEGA Managing Director, at emma.macpherson@cspg.org.
Becoming a Director
CEGA is looking for candidates who value collaborative work with other Board members while embracing the challenge of strategizing, developing, and executing plans related to their specific portfolio. The portfolios within CEGA may vary from year to year, and additional directors may be appointed by the Board for one-year terms.
Preferred qualifications for candidates include prior Board experience, leadership skills, a pragmatic attitude, visionary thinking, and management capabilities.
New directors will participate in orientation, strategic planning, portfolio planning, and monthly Board meetings. During the month, they may also assist Committee Chairs in steering their events. It is desirable for directors to attend some of the event functions, particularly under their portfolio, such as CEGA Technical Luncheons, Networking Events, and Conferences.
Directors are also expected to contribute to the promotion of CEGA membership and encourage members to volunteer.
